Rare genuine WWII US Army fighting knife, based on a bayonet intended for the M1 Garand rifle, manufactured by Utica Cutlery -- short version produced from 1943 onwards.
The grip has been covered with a double layer of leather, kept in place by a leather shoelace attached and stuck to the guard and to the locking mechanism -- the latter being thus made unusable.
Comes in its original handcrafted leather scabbard.
Nice homogeneous set in quite good, used condition.
