Goggles, Type E-1, green, 1943
Genuine WWII US goggles, Type E-1, green lenses, dated 1943. These were designed to protect the eyes from wind and dust, with tinted acetate lenses. Marking 1943 is inked on the inside of the leather frame. Manufactured by S. Froehlisch. Mainly used by US airborne troops during the jump.

Scarce genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to 1st Lieutenant Fred W. Dakin , 128th Field Artillery Battalion, 6th Armored Division, made up of the following items: - water-repellent case for sleeping bag, manufactured by Cameo Curtains, Inc. and dated 1944; - rubberized cloth briefcase manufactured by Crawford Mfg. Co. and dated 1941; - OD serge wool trousers dated 1941, size 31 x 33; - two OD flannel shirts -- one is dated 1942, size 15 x 33, and retains a 6th Armored Division shoulder sleeve insignia; - khaki cotton shirt; - two dark OD garrison caps -- one is dated 1942 and retains a 1st Lieutenant rank insignia; - two khaki cotton garrison caps; - set of various manuals, including three from the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, dated 1942; - pair of low rubber overshoes manufactured by Eskimo ; - couple of instruments (protractor, framing square...); - 6th Armored Division Roster of Officers; - M1 helmet, featuring front seam and swivel loops, manufactured by McCord , shell number 972E (early canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook); - helmet liner manufactured by Firestone , complete with leather chinstrap, khaki cotton suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband and OD-painted A washers (the outer surface is adorned with a 6th Armored Division insignia and a 1st Lieutenant rank insignia). Nice homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition. Most of the aforementioned artifacts bear some of the following personal details: name Fred W. Dakin , officer's ASN O-1172826 and laundry number D-2826 . See below for further information.

Grouping, Pfc. Irving Frank, Medic, 78th & 46th Med. Bns., 8th & 4th Armored Divisions, ETO
Very nice and rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of an 'Ike Jacket' of the type adopted in April 1944, a standard issue OD flannel shirt, and a rubberized M1936 field bag, which all belonged to Private First Class Irving A. Frank , who served with the 78th and 46th Medical Battalions (8th and 4th Armored Divisions). The jacket retains the following insignias: 8th and 4th Armored Divisions shoulder patches, Private First Class rank stripes, 46th Medical Battalion distinctive unit insignia, 'Ruptured Duck', Distinctive Unit Citation, medal ribbon (Army of Occupation Medal), Meritorious Service Unit Badge, Service Stripe, and Overseas Service Bars. Label is dated June 9, 1944, size 36R. Name Frank has been handwritten in the collar and a full-size Good Conduct Medal is pinned on the flap of the left breast pocket. The shirt, of the regulation pattern with gas flap (Special), is adorned with 8th Armored Division shoulder sleeve insignia, Private First Class chevrons, one single U.S. collar disc, a medal ribbon (European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Stars), as well as the Good Conduct Medal lapel pin badge and Honorable Discharge lapel pin badge. Size 14 ½ x 32. The back of the rubberized musette bag features a hand-painted version of the 4th Armored Division insignia. A letter sent to his mother in June 1945 and a newspaper clipping from January 1946 (copies) complete this homogeneous set, in good overall condition. See details below.

Rare genuine WWII US Army Signal Corps HS-38 headset, made up of a pair of ANB-H-1 receivers manufactured by Shure Brothers, Chicago and intended for being used with the tanker helmet and various types of USAAF flying helmets. Perfect condition, complete with cord and PL-354 plug. Homogeneous set, coming in its original 1943-dated cardboard box along with instruction sheet.

Helmet, Tank, 1st Lt. Joseph Zitnik, 66th Arm. Regt., 2nd Armored Division, DOW October 5, 1944, ETO
Amazing genuine WWII US Army shock-absorbing helmet, intended for tank and armored vehicle crews. Manufactured by Wilson Ath. Goods Mfg. Co. in Chicago, Illinois. Size 6 ⅞. Complete and in rather good, worn condition. Some 1st Lieutenant rank insignia has been painted on the front, while laundry number Z-4297 has been written inside. Joseph Zitnik was born on February 16, 1912 in Scammon, Kansas and joined the US Army on April 30, 1942. Commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant (officer's ASN O-101 4297 ), he went on to serve with 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division and deployed to Europe, where he was fatally wounded in action on October 5, 1944 in the Netherlands. Great genuine WWII US Army shock-absorbing helmet, intended for tank and armored vehicle crews. Manufactured by Wilson Ath. Goods Mfg. Co . Rare size 7 ⅜. The outer surfaces have been covered with some green paint and some canvas chinstrap has been added, indicating that the present helmet was later worn as a football helmet. Good overall condition.
