Interesting genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to T/5 George Gillespie, Rigger Section, Sv. Co., 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.
The present lot includes various personal belongings (dog tag, jump wings, Combat Infantryman Badge, Airborne cap insignia, collar discs, three ribbon bars...), as well as his own copy of the New Testament, a prayer book and a large amount of original military documents. It also contains the very rare leather 502nd pocket patch.
A Rigger-made briefcase and a small pouch, both made in OD cloth, fitted with snap fasteners and bearing name Gillespie, complete this batch.
Nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition, coming along with a 1957 veteran badge and a page from a 1994 newspaper.
