Genuine WWII British rucksack, made in rubberized canvas and fitted with leather parts.
Dated 1942.
Based upon the models developped by Norwegian manufacturer Bergans in the early 20th century, this large-capacity backpack was adopted by the British Army during the Second World War; known as the 'Bergen' rucksack, it soon became popular with many special operations units, such as commandos and SAS.
Quite good, used condition — retains its metal frame, shoulder straps and various securing straps.
