Great genuine WWII Canadian Tam O'Shanter bonnet, specific to some infantry units of Scottish tradition and intended for being worn with the Battledress.
Manufactured by Buffalo Cap & Neckwear Ltd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1940.
Size 6 ¾.
Complete and in perfect condition; retains its original Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada cap badge with approriate Cameron of Erracht tartan backing.
Following its participation in the disastrous raid on Dieppe on August 19, 1942, this 2nd Canadian Infantry Division unit, recruited in Manitoba, returned to Normandy on June 7, 1944 and subsequently took part in the European Campaign.
