Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of a regulation Enlisted Men's jacket, a flannel shirt with antigas flap, a garrison cap and a pair of dog tags, which belonged to Staff Sergeant Paul J. Postlethwaite, C. Company, 10th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division.

Chosen by General Eisenhower in April 1944, the jacket soon became popular as the 'Ike Jacket'. The present one retains its original insignia: 5th Infantry Division and HQ ETO (Headquarters - European Theater of Operations) shoulder patches, US-embossed and Infantry collar discs, Staff Sergeant rank stripes, medal ribbons (Bronze Star, Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one Star, American Campaign Medal, European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Stars), Combat Infantry Badge, Overseas Service Bars, Service Stripes and 'Ruptured Duck'. The Victory Medal is pinned on the pocket flap. Label still present, dated June 9, 1944, size 36R.

The 'Special' shirt retains the following insignia: 5th Infantry Division shoulder patch, Staff Sergeant rank stripes, Overseas Service Bars, Service Stripes and 'Ruptured Duck'. Size 14 x 32.

The garrison cap is plain and has no label yet fits like a size 6 5/8. Along with his name (mispelled) and ASN, his dog tags indicate his blood type (O), religion (Protestant) and tetanus vaccination dates (1944 and 1945).

Homogeneous set, in excellent overall condition.
