Bag, Mask, Gas, Lightweight, Sgt. Olembia Stavrou Parker, WAC, USAAF
Genuine WWII US M6 light khaki canvas bag, marked Army Lightweight Service Mask, intended for carrying the M3 service gas mask and its various accessories -- this type was issued to glider troops and glider pilots prior to D-Day.
This type of bag was often used as a simple musette bag.
Quite good overall condition, complete with carrying strap. Name O. Stavrou, Olembia and ASN A-200357 have been handwritten under the flap.
Olembia Parker, nee Stavrou, was born on August 31, 1920 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Greek parents and joined the Women's Army Corps on September 11, 1942. She was discharged as a Sergeant and passed away on June 4, 1992.
