Carrier, Mine, Tellermine 35, German, 1937, Normandy

Genuine pre-WWII German mine carrier, intended for containing two antitank mines of the Tellermine 35 type. Dated 1937. This type was sometimes secured on the sides of armored vehicles.

In used condition, the present carrier is oxidized and partly damaged yet retains some remnants of green and sand yellow paint. Markings 2 T.Mi.35 are still legible on one side.

No mines included.

The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years -- most of the items were recovered from the Falaise Gap.
