Genuine pre-WWII German cowhide rucksack M34 Tornister with natural hair.
Intended for carrying personal impedimenta: the inside pocket of the flap held the cleaning utensils, a towel, a sewing kit and a shirt. The centre of the main compartment held the cooking pot with bread ration and cutlery inside it, the sides contained the ankle boots with the cleaning items inside them, some pairs of socks filling any gaps. Between the flap and the body of the rucksack could be placed work trousers and high boots if available.
The Tornister was simplified as the war progressed and the cowhide cover was eliminated for economical and practical considerations.
This rucksack is in used condition without leather straps, dated 1938. A name has been handwritten on the back.
The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.

Ink markings visible under the flap tend to indicate that the previous owner may have served with 1. Kompanie of Jäger-Regiment 80 -- more likely Infanterie-Regiment 80 . This rucksack, which is in quite good, used condition, shows a few signs of repair yet retains all original straps and buckles.

Bag, Bread, Brotbeutel 31
Genuine WWII German Brotbeutel 31 canvas musette bag, generally known as 'bread bag'. This piece of gear was standard issue for the German infantryman: although first intended for carrying the daily food ration, it was often used a catch-all for personal belongings. The present bag is in excellent overall condition and retains all original metal buttons and 'D' rings, as well as its various leather straps.

Rare genuine WWII German cloth bag, intended for carrying an ammunition case housing MG 34 or MG 42 machine gun belts. The present bag, which is in used condition, retains its strap. Found in Normandy. Please note that the ammo case is not included in this sale.

Mask, Gas, M30, German, Complete, Uffz. Hans Osterloh, III. Gruppe, Kampfgeschwader 100, Luftwaffe, Normandie
Rare genuine pre-WWII German M30 gas mask, size 2, complete with FE 37 filter cartridge, original lenses and head straps. Dated 1938. Comes in its original canister (small size: 9.8in), dated 1937, which retains its various canvas straps along with most of its original Feldgrau paint. All hinges are in working order. A pair of spare lenses is still present in the small compartment intended for that purpose. Various inscriptions visible on the head straps and under the canister indicate that the present lot once belonged to some Unteroffizier Hans Osterloh , who served with III. Genuine WWI German leather field suspender, intended for carrying the belt and its various pieces of equipment. The Y-shaped assembly was the central part of the assault pack, allowing a better weight distribution. Manufactured by Hoffmann & Sohns in Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate and dated 1917. Good overall condition.

Belt, Wehrmacht, Heer, Painted-Steel Buckle, 1940-1941
Great genuine WWII German brown leather belt, retaining its original steel buckle adorned with the Heer eagle and showing remnants of Feldgrau paint. The belt itself is dated 1940; the leather tab located behind the buckle plate is dated 1941. Quite good, worn condition. Overall length: 39.7in.

Jacket, Fatigue, Feldgrau, Luftwaffe, Mint
Extremely rare genuine WWII German Feldgrau herringbone twill fatigue jacket, of the type intended for Luftwaffe other ranks, based on the standard regulation Fliegerbluse . Size indications have been inked on the left inner pocket: 43 (back), 45 (collar), 96 (chest), 66 (length) and 64 (sleeves). The breast eagle and the collar insignia are still present. Complete and in perfect condition.

Genuine WWII German brown leather belt, retaining its original aluminium buckle of the Polizei , manufactured by Josef Feix und Söhne ; motto Gott mit Uns has been obliterated. Quite good, worn condition; found in Normandy. Overall length: 32.3in.

Belt, Deutsches Heer, Steel Buckle, 1916, Prussia
Nice genuine WWI German russet leather belt, fitted with an Imperial Army steel buckle (Deutsches Heer ) bearing the Prussian motto -- Gott mit Uns . The belt itself bears the hallmark of Julius Jansen in Strasbourg, Alsace, which was then part of the German Empire, while the leather tab located behind the buckle plate was manufactured by M. Gebhardt in Tempelhof, Berlin in 1916. Complete and in good overall condition. Total length: 37.4in.

Helmet, German, Stahlhelm M1916, Infanterie-Regiment 115, Hesse
Amazing genuine WWI German M1916 helmet, of the type introduced in the Imperial Army in 1916. All original rivets are still present, along with the leather liner, complete with pads and drawstring -- chinstrap is missing. Despite some light surface oxidation, the present Stahlhelm retains most of its original Feldgrau paint; the rear of the shell has been adorned with a hand-painted iron cross. Inscriptions visible inside tend to indicate that the owner of this helmet successively served in two different infantry regiments, including the Hessian Infanterie-Regiment 115 . Good overall condition, in spite of four small cracks on top of the shell. A page from French newspaper Le Matin , March 28, 1915 issue, showing a global map of the Western Front as per March 25, 1915, comes along with this very nice relic.

Rare genuine WWI German other ranks field cap of the M10 Feldmütze type, made in Feldgrau wool. Corresponds to US size 6 ¾ Worn condition; shows some moth damaged yet retains both cockades. A Soldbuch which belonged to some gunner of 3. Batterie , II. Erzatz-Abteilung , Feld-Artillerie-Regiment No. 62 of Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, and a dog tag complete this interesting lot.

Quite good, used condition; name Karl Eckel has been engraved at the back; shoulder slings are a bit twisted and show signs of field repair.

Nice genuine WWII German painted-steel belt buckle, of the specific Luftwaffe type. Dated 1941. Good overall condition; retains its original brown leather tab, manufactured by Schmöle & Comp. in Menden, North Rhine-Westphalia and dated 1941, too.

Rare genuine WWII German Drillichbluse summer tunic, reed green color. Introduced in 1942, this combat and duty jacket, based on the Feldbluse pattern but made from natural linen, was widely worn by Heer troops during the Battle of Normandy. Size indications and year of reception are still visible inside: 43 (back), 44 (collar), 96 (chest), 72 (length), 64 (sleeves), and [19] 44 . The present unifom is in worn condition, as indicated by various signs of repair, yet retains all original pebbled aluminium buttons, as well as its collar insignia and breast eagle; shoulder boards and belt hooks are missing; the right-hand sleeve has been adorned with a Gebirgsjäger insignia ( BeVo type).
