Box, Ammunition, Practice, Mauser 98k, Normandy

Genuine WWII German ammunition box, containing fifteen practice rounds (wooden bullet) intended for the Mauser 98k rifle.

According to some US veterans, the Germans sometime fired such training munitions in actual combat.

Every cartridge has been rammed, drilled and emptied, thus being totally deactivated and inert.

Homogeneous lot, found in Cherbourg, Normandy.
