Genuine WWII US Purple Heart Medal, coming in its case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge, as well as the original telegram sent by the military authorities to the mother of Sergeant James C. Jordan on February 26, 1945, informing her that he had been slightly injured in action in Belgium.

This nice lot is accompanied by a scrapbook, which belonged to the above-mentioned James C. Jordan and contains, apart from numerous original photographs from his service time in Europe, various newspaper clippings, personal mail and other souvenirs.

James Clayton Jordan was born on May 4, 1925 in Dayton, Iowa and joined the US Army on July 5, 1943 (ASN 37702674). He deployed to Europe and went on to serve with 395th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division, where he suffered frozen feet on February 12, 1945. He passed away on November 25, 2012.
