





















































Grouping, Pfc. Peter Wilczak, 103rd & 91st Infantry Divisions, WIA, Italy, September 23, 1944
Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some Private First Class Peter J. Wilczak, Company A, 410th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Regiment and includes the following artifacts:
- pair of dog tags issued to some Peter J. Wilczak, ASN 36694780, vaccinated in 1944, blood type O, Catholic, retaining both bead chains;
- Purple Heart coming in its original case along with lapel badge; name Peter J. Wilczak has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- Bronze Star coming in its original case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge; name Peter J. Wilczak has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- Good Conduct Medal coming along with two ribbon bars, two spare ribbons and a lapel badge; name Peter J. Wilczak has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Stars, coming in its original box along with a ribbon bar;
- one single ribbon bar (WWII Victory Medal) and a triple ribbon bar (Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal et European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal);
- Combat Infantryman Badge, made in sterling silver by N.S. Meyer, Inc. in New York;
- two Expert badges (one bearing mention 'Rifle') and a Marksman badge;
- 'Ruptured Duck', 103rd Infantry Division and 6th Service Command shoulder sleeve insignias, Technician 5th Grade rank stripes (one) and Private First Class rank stripe (one).
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Piotr Wilczak was born on May 18, 1912 in Gorzów, Poland and arrived in New York on January 2, 1913. He was granted US citizenship on November 18, 1941 as Peter John Wilczak and joined the US Army in 1943. He went on to serve with Company A, 410th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division, later transferred to Company L, 362nd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division and deployed to Europe, and was wounded in Italy on September 23, 1944. He passed away on October 2, 1998.
