Genuine WWII US Bronze Star Medal, coming in its original case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge; name Clifton E. Stapp has been engraved on the reverse of the medal.
Nice homogeneous set, in excellent overall condition, coming with a Prisoner of War Medal and some 79th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia. Instituted in 1985, the Prisoner of War Medal was retroactively awarded from 1917 onwards.

Clifton Euell Stapp was born on October 21, 1921 in Mason, Texas and joined the US Army on August 12, 1943 (ASN 39703288). He went on to serve with Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 315th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, deployed to Europe, fought in the Normandy campaign and was captured on January 11, 1945 in Germany, being subsequently interned at Stalag IX-C near Bad Sulza, Thuringia. He was liberated in April, discharged on October 27 of that year as a Private, and passed away on January 20, 1989.
