Genuine WWII US Marine Corps Mark 2 type fighting knife, manufactured by Camillus and hallmarked on guard. Comes in its original russet leather scabbard, at the back of which name S.R. Clegg has been carved. Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. Homogeneous set in good, used condition. Samuel Richard Clegg was born on August 17, 1924 in Bellaire, Ohio and joined the USMC on November 20, 1942 (service number 491795). He went on to serve with the Fleet Marine Force and was discharged on November 15, 1945 as a Corporal.
