Knife, Fighting, MK 2, KA-BAR, OLEAN, N.Y., USMC, Modified, with Scabbard, USN

Rare genuine WWII US Mk 2 fighting knife, of the early-production type hallmarked Ka-Bar, Olean, N.Y. on the left side of the ricasso and bearing initials USMC on the right side.

Quite interestingly, the hilt has been entirely replaced with a theater-made grip fashioned out of plexiglas and aluminium — adorned with a plaque featuring mention U.S. Marine Corps — and a four-point handcrafted knuckle guard, which give the whole assembly both solidity and lightness all at once.

Comes in its original US Navy grey bakelite scabbard, featuring a rather grossly-carved erotic figure under names Honolulu and Tina.

Great homogeneous set in rather good, used condition.
