Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number illegible.
Original early production canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The outer surface shows a theater-made camouflage scheme, which consists of large stains of paint --- light green, yellowish ochre and brown -- while initials US were grossly painted in yellow on the right side.
Comes with its rare liner of the 'low pressure' type manufactured by St. Clair Rubber Co. (see yellow initials SC inked inside, at the bottom), which retains its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, and plain A washers. Some hardly legible inscription is visible on the top, whereas mentions SK9918 and Foster 169 have been written on the inner surface.
Nice homogeneous set in rather good, worn condition.
