Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, Medic, Named

Genuine WWII US M1 Army helmet, front rim seam and swivel loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 27 C.

Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.

The outer surface shows the remnants of five crosses (one on the front, one on the rear, one on the top and one on either side), probably made with medical tape — which is now gone —, whereas name W. P. Ray has been stenciled on the back.

Quite good, worn condition.
