Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 628A.
Canvas chinstrap with steel buckle and brass hook.
The outer surface, covered with a layer of blue-grey paint, has been adorned with initials USN on the front and a vertical bar at the back, all made with orange paint.
Comes with its original liner, made by Westinghouse, featuring khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband, OD-painted A washers, and leather chinstrap; markings U.S. CGF 475 have been written in white paint on the front.
Nice homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
