Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, 1st Infantry Division, Firestone Liner, Normandy
Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 267A.
Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The outer surface has been adorned with the 1st Infantry Division insignia, hand-painted on the front of the shell.
Comes along with its original liner, made by Firestone, retaining its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, with russet leather sweatband and OD-painted A washers.
Extremely rare homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition, found in Normandy.
