Jar, Rum, British, S.R.D., 1939, Normandy
Great genuine WWII British rum jar, of the stoneware type without any handle, adorned with initials S.R.D. (Supply Reserve Depot). Manufactured by Pearson & Co., Ltd. in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and dated 1939. Capactiy: 1 gallon (about 4.5 liters). Rum rations were to be issued upon order of the commanding officer or on recommendation of a medical doctor. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 12.8in x 6.9in. Empty. The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years, which includes many relics from the so-called 'Falaise Gap'.

Genuine WWII British tank crew helmet (Helmet, Steel, Royal Armoured Corps, Mk I), retaining its liner and web chinstrap. Liner manufactured by CCL ( Christy & Co. Ltd. , London) and dated 1945. Good, worn condition.

Grouping, T/5 Oris Bridgman, Medical Department, 53rd & 103rd General Hospitals, ETO
Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some T echnician 5th Grade Oris W. Bridgman and includes the following artefacts: - M1936 field bag made in Britain by M.E. Co. in 1943; mention Cpl. Oris W. Bridgman and ASN 37423688 have been written on the back of the musette bag itself, while laundry number is visible under the flap; - M1910 canteen manufactured by G.M. Co. in 1942 and standard issue cup produced by T.A.C.U. Co. in 1941, retaining their canvas cover; laundry number B-3688 is visible under the canteen and in the cover; - M1932 mess kit made by Knapp-Monarch Co. in 1944, coming along with cutlery set (spoon, knife and fork); laundry number B-3688 can be seen on two of these utensils; - M1936 belt, also showing laundry number B-3688 ; - TL-122-B flashlight, under which initials WB have been carved; - pair of distinctive unit insignias bearing Latin motto Hominum Causa . Nice homogeneous set in quite good, used condition, coming along with various American Legion souvenirs: veteran's cap, membership award, pin badges... Oris Wayne Bridgman was born on March 28, 1914 in Davis, Iowa and joined the US Army on July 25, 1942. He went on to serve with the Medical Department and deployed to Europe with the 53rd and 103rd General Hospitals. Chest Insignia, 22nd Fighter Squadron, 36th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, Leather
Superb reproduction of the chest badge of 22nd Fighter Squadron, 36th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, hand-painted on a piece of leather. Activated in February 1940, it became one of the three fighter squadrons of the 36th Fighter Group, equipped with P-47 Thunderbolts (fuselage code 3T ). After several months of intensive training in Florida, the squadron reached England in April 1944, where it was assigned to the 9th Air Force. Following ground-attack missions over France, the squadron took part in supporting Allied troops on June 6, 1944, and carried out numerous sorties throughout the Normandy campaign. This large insignia (13 cm in diameter) was worn by P-47 pilots on their A-2 jackets.
