Trousers, Combat, Winter (Tanker Bib), US Army, 1st Type
Great genuine WWII US Army early production type winter combat trousers, made in wool-lined twill and fitted with zippered fly opening and adjustable straps; tightening of ankles is allowed by cloth ribbons.
Adopted by tank crews and motorcyclists, the so-called 'tanker' jacket and bib soon became popular with officers of various branches of service — not to mention paratroopers of the 504th PIR, fighter pilots, and sailors of the Naval Beach Battalions on D-Day.
Warmer than the A-2 jacket and more comfortable, the matching jacket, which is not provided here, was made of the same material, featuring the wool blanket type lining.
Excellent overall condition. Talon zippers are in working order.
