Grouping, Sgt. Rolland Miller, 17th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Bn., 1st Marine Division, Tinian

Rare genuine US Marine Corps grouping, which belonged to some Sergeant Rolland E. Miller, 17th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, 1st Marine Division and includes the following items:

- Blue Dress uniform: jacket with Sergeant shevrons and Service Stripes, trousers, belt, and blue cap;
- Forest Green jacket, retaining its belt, EGA collar insignia, Private First Class rank stripes and 1st Marine Division shoulder sleeve insignia, coming along with matching garrison cap;
- Forest Green jacket, without any insignia;
- two pairs of white gloves;
- two neckties (khaki and black);
- three cap covers (white, Forest Green and khaki);
- pair of canvas leggings;
- khaki garrison cap;
- lot of various sleeve insignia (Service Stripes, Corporal and Sergeant chevrons).

Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition; most of the aforementioned elements show name R.E. Miller or initials R.E.M.

Rolland Eugene Miller was born on December 6, 1925 in Mauch Chunk, Pennsylvania and joined the USMC on March 1st, 1944 (service number 950884. He went on to serve with 17th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, 1st Marine Division and deployed to the Pacific from December 21, 1944 to March 2, 1946, seeing action on Tinian. He was discharged on August 25, 1944 as a Corporal, and returned to active service from August 15, 1951 to October 1st, 1952, eventually retiring as a Sergeant. He passed away on October 31, 2003.
