Rare genuine WWII US Navy grouping, which belonged to Chief Pharmacist's Mate Joseph E. Poche, made up of two duffle bags, a gas mask bag, and a 'Dixie Cup' hat, all showing name Poche, J.E.

A body of various documents related to his post-war service complete this interesting and homogeneous lot, in quite good overall condition.

Joseph Euwin Poche, Jr. was born on January 30, 1916 in Labadieville, Louisiana and joined the US Navy in October 1942. He was trained as a Medic in Pensacola, Florida prior to deploying to Notley, England and was later transferred to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was discharged as a Chief Pharmacist's Mate in February 1946 and remained in the Navy Reserve until 1976. He passed away on September 22, 2001.
