Genuine WWI US Army M1905 bayonet, initially intended for the M1903 Springfield rifle yet later used with the M1 Garand rifle during WWII.
Manufactured by Springfield Armory in 1917 (see hallmark on the left side of the ricasso) and subsequently shortened; the tip of the blade shows a Bowie type angle.
Following this modification, this type was redesignated M1 in March 1943.
Brown bakelite grips.
Good overall condition; comes in its bakelite scabbard.
