Nice genuine WWII US stationery, intended for the personal correspondence between GIs and their loved ones. The present kit is made up of five sheets featuring humorous illustrations and four matching envelopes, coming in their original cardboard folder. The latter provides general advice and guidance for the families of servicemen regarding the contents of their letters in order to maintain morale. Homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Genuine WWII French identity card, of the specific type issued by the État français (Vichy Government) from 1940 to 1944. Good overall condition; retains its original photograph. The present document was issued in Pau, Basses-Pyrénées département -- present-day Pyrénées-Atlantiques département -- on December 1st, 1943, to some Louis, Thomas Cipres , a stone mason born in Gan, same département , on December 21, 1897 to Spanish parents. He served in the 130e Régiment d'infanterie in the last weeks of the Great War, and was conscripted again on August 26, 1939 prior to being discharged on May 12, 1940. Genuine WWII USAAF I-81-A Radio Compass Indicator (aka Pilot's Bearing Indicator), component of the Radio Compass SCR- 269-G system (which evolved into the AN/ARN-7). According to the Airborne Radio Equipment Handbook of the Air Service Command dated 1943, this system appeared in versions of the US Army Air Force bombers B-17, B-24, B-25, B-26, B-29, and transports C-46, C-47, and C-54. The system was designed primarily to be used as a navigational instrument,and this is the indicator which appeared on the pilots instrument panel to provide directional indication for the signal being received from the transmitting installation, e.g., an airfield or other navigational beacon.

Genuine WWII US window insert in plexiglass for C-47 Skytrain. Each porthole has its stopper. It is a removable gun port which sat in the center of several of the fuselage side windows. Note in the above photo you can see it in the first window on the left side of the aircraft. It was WW2's version of a "Gunship". The clear plastic insert could be easily removed and the barrel of a weapon shoved through the opening and fired.

Genuine WWII USAAF C-47 Skytrain window insert, made in plexiglas and retaining its rubber seal. Here's a great and rare ordinance item from the venerable C-47 "Goonie Bird".
