Album, Photographic Negatives, 1st Lt. Lawrence Carty, 8th TCS, 62nd TCG, 12th Air Force, USAAF, Italy, 1944

Rare genuine WWII US Army personal souvenir album, containing about thirty original photographic negatives of various formats.

The inscription visible on the inner cover indicates that the present album once belonged to some Lieutenant L.J. Carty, ASN O-774533.

Nice homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.

Album dimensions: about 6.50in x 8.85in.

Lawrence J. Carty was born on October 5, 1922 in  Los Angeles, California and joined the Air Corps on December 10, 1942 (ASN 19205920). After being awarded his pilot's badge and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, he went on to serve with 8th Troop Carrier Squadron, 62nd Troop Carrier Group, 12th Air Force in Italy. He was discharged on July 11, 1946 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and passed away on January 23, 1971.
