Bag, Field, M-1936, T/4 Charles Enterline, 53rd Gen. Hospital, ETO, Utah Beach, Bretagne, Bastogne

Genuine WWII US Army M1936 field bag, khaki canvas, manufactured by St. Croix Garment Co. and dated 1943. Issued in lieu of the haversack to officers and other personnel such as airborne troops and armored crews.

Good overall condition; comes along with a carrying strap made by M.E. Co. and dated 1944. Name Charles Enterline and ASN 33238509 have been written on the flap, while number 10313-UU is visible in the lower part of the musette bag.

Charles William Enterline was born on April 19, 1917 in Milton, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on August 17, 1942. He deployed to Europe from January 29, 1943 to August 31, 1945 and went on to serve with the 53rd General Hospital. He was discharged on December 17 of that year as a Technician 4th Grade and passed away on February 6, 1996.
