Shirt, Cotton, Khaki, with Tie and Handkerchief, WAC, S/Sgt. Loie Silsby, 15th Air Force, USAAF

Genuine WWII US Women's Army Corps khaki cotton shirt intended for female personnel, featuring two buttoned-flap pockets on the breast. 

Complete and in excellent overall condition; retains its original 15th Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia and Staff Sergeant rank stripes; laundry number S-6400 has been written in the collar.

Shoulder width: 16.55in. Sleeve length: 22.85in.

A khaki cotton cloth necktie and some handkerchief, both showing name Lorie Silsby [sic] and ASN A-216400, complete this nice homogeneous set.

Loie C. Silsby was born on August 5, 1904 in Stockholm, New York and joined the US Army on October 7, 1944. She was discharged in 1949, and passed away on January 2, 1989.
