Nice genuine WWII German ammunition case, intended for carrying MG 34 -- and later MG 42 -- belts, converted into a first-aid kit container. Dated 1941. Handle and hinges are in working order.
The present box is in good, used condition and retains most of its original paint. A red cross has been painted in a white disc on one side, and mention Verbandkasten (first-aid kit) on the other.
