Certificates, Award, Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe & Eiserne Kreuz, FJR 15, 1944

Interesting lot of two genuine WWII German award certificates, awarded to some Obergefreiter Bernhard Janes, Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 15.

Dated September 1st, 1944, the first document is related to the Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eiserne Kreuz 2. Klasse), whereas the second one, dated October 2 of that same year, was issued along with the Ground Assault Badge (Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe).

Nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Created in March 1944, the aforementioned regiment saw action in Normandy in July, including in the vicinity of Mont Castre (Hill 122), and sustained heavy casualties. Following its reconstitution in the autumn, it deployed in the Netherlands prior to participating in the Battle of the Bulge in December.
