Genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 552C.

Original early production canvas chinstrap with brass hook and buckle.

The outer surface of the shell has been covered with a layer of blue-grey paint, while the inner surface retains its factory-applied OD color.

Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Firestone -- khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, OD-painted A washers (oxidized), leather chinstrap; the outer surface has been covered with a layer of anthracite grey paint.

Rare homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
