Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, Medic, Three Red Crosses, SEAMAN PAPER CO. Liner, T/3 Glenn King, Alaska
Rare genuine WWII US M1 Army helmet, front rim seam and swivel loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number hardly legible.
Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook; laundry number A-3019 has been inked on the right-hand side strap, which seems to have superseded the original one at some point.
The outer surface has been adorned with three white discs, each bearing a red cross -- almost obliterated on the left-hand side; name Glenn H. King and ASN 37190840 have been written on the inner surface of the shell.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Seaman Paper Co., which retains its khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband and plain A washers.
Amazing homogeneous set in rather good, worn condition.
Technician 3rd Grade Glenn H. King served with Alaskan Department Casual Battalion.
