Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, Pfc. Jack Terrell, Co. A, 39th Inf. Regt., 9th Infantry Division, WIA, ETO

Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 42D.

Marking AAAO, which refers to the regimental motto of 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division ('Anything, Anytime, Anywhere, Bar Nothing!), was painted on either side of the shell, while name Terrell Jack K. and ASN 36889303 have been written on the canvas chinstrap, which features a brass buckle fitted with a steel hook.

Comes with its rare liner of the early, 'low pressure' type manufactured by St. Clair Rubber Co. (see yellow initials SC inked inside, at the bottom), which retains its rayon suspension and neckband, leather sweatband, rectangular plain washers, and leather chinstrap.

Nice homogeneous set in rather good, worn condition.

Serving in Europe with Company A du 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, Private First Class Jack K. Terrell was wounded by shrapnel in his leg on February 28, 1945.
