Genuine WWII US M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 157.

The left side of the shell has been adorned with the Dutch lion rampant, stenciled in orange paint.

Comes with an original liner, manufactured by Mine Safey Appliances, featuring khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband, plain A washers, and leather chinstrap (broken); two inscriptions have been engraved on the  outer surface: Lynn Mass at the rear, and Lynn Bossman on the front.

Following the liberation of North Brabant and Limburg in late 1944, early 1945, various armed formations of the Dutch Resistance (Knokploegen) joined the Allied Forces to keep fighting; fitted with American and British equipment, these 'Dutch Shock Troops' were identified by their national symbol, the lion rampant.

Quite good overall condition.
