The name tag still present in this cap indicates that it once belonged to some Commander W.R. Hierseman.
Wayne Ruel Hierseman was born on August 22, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa and joined the US Navy on August 1, 1945. He was discharged on March 12, 1947 but remained in the reserve and passed away on January 27, 2022.
