Trousers, US Navy, Naval Beach Battalion, D-Day
Rare genuine WWII US Navy denim overalls, initially intended for being used as a decontamination outfit.
Designed for being worn with the matching parka, these white cotton cloth trousers were later dyed in a light green shade. On June 6, 1944, this garment was issued to the sailors of the Naval Beach Battalions who landed on Omaha Beach and Utah Beach.
Good, worn condition.
See Michel De Trez's and Tyler Elliott's book, Utah Beach - Fighting Our Way Ashore - with the 2nd Naval Beach Battalion (pp. 178-183).
