Card, Identification, Medical Department, 2nd Type, 1945, Pfc. Lloyd Arnold
Rare genuine WWII US War Departement identification card for medical personnel, of the plasticised type introduced in 1944 to supersede the former cardboard version adopted in 1942.
Issued in accordance with instructions of the 1929 Geneva Convention, which required that protected military and civilian personnel should carry an official document to be recognized as non-fighting personnel.
Very good overall condition; issued to Private First Class Lloyd O. Arnold on June 26, 1945.
Lloyd Owen Arnold was born on May 4, 1909 in Sherwood, Ohio and joined the US Army on October 19, 1943 (ASN 35294008). He was discharged on November 25, 1945 as a Private First Class, and passed away on October 4, 1978.
