Scarce and great genuine WWII US Marine Corps camouflage Herringbone Twill utility jacket, of the fully-reversible type introduced in May 1942, featuring two patch pockets on each face, a buttonable hip pocket on the right-hand side and a breast pocket on the left-hand side, adorned with initials USMC and the Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem. Intended for being worn with matching trousers, this jacket was first issued to Raiders battalions in the summer 1943, prior to becoming widespread in most combat units.
This kind of jacket was also widely used by French paratroopers during the First Indochina War.
The present jacket is in good worn condition and retains all original buttons, big size.
