Grouping, T/5 Henry Auseth, 37th Engineer Bn., 5th ESB, D-Day, Omaha Beach

Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of a Purple Heart medal coming in its original case along with ribbon bar and lapel badge, a Bronze Star medal, and a dog tag issued to some Henry Auseth, ASN 36245909, vaccinated in 1942 and 1943, blood type A, Protestant.

Name Henry Auseth has been engraved on the reverse of both medals.

Very nice homogeneous set, in excellent overall condition.

Henry Auseth was born on January 14, 1920 in Gallesville, Wisconsin in a family of Norwegian descent and joined the US Army on June 17, 1942. He went on to serve with 37th Engineer Combat Battalion and landed on Omaha Beach as part of the 5th Engineer Special Brigade prior to taking part in the whole campaign. He was discharged on November 9, 1945, and passed away on November 18, 1994.
