Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 557B.
Original canvas chinstrap with early brass buckle and hook.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Westinghouse, retaining its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, and blackened-brass A washers; the outer surface shows remnants of a white stripe, as well as a painted Major rank insignia and name Cain.
Nice homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
